★☆Today we had a presentation!!☆★

Group1: Perfume I think perfumers are a wonderful person because they can classify into perfume types (there are 3,000? types). Good information & Cute PowerPoint!!

Group3: Fireworks I like fireworks,so it was exciting information.

Group4: Violin I could know new violin's information. (eg. Violins started in Mongolia. It was easy to understand.

Group5: Christmas cake Nice & Cute Power Points→I came to want to eat cakes!!

Group6: Contact Lenses It was a interesting & amazing information (how to make and contact lenses' risk).

Group7: Cup Noodle I thought it is an interesting topic.

Group8: Girlfriend Interesting information!!（*皿*） They were good actors!!

Group9: Contact Lens Their way to read was lively, so it is easy to hear!! And nice power points they helped me understand.

Group10: Soccer ball Power points were simple, but it was easy to understand.


Every group's presentation was very good!!!

**Levi Strauss**

Do you know Levi Strauss???

He is the founder of Levi's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was born in Löb Strauß (German) . His parents are Jewish.

Young Levi sailed from Bremerhaven(German) to America . Then, he lived in San Francisco and he became an American citizen.

He became a dry goods tradesman because his brother run a dry goods company.

In San Francisco, Gold rush was happening in 1800's. So, Levi thought that miners need strong cloth. At first, he sold the cloth which are used in making tents.

He brought the denim into America and he used it to make strong pants.

He dyed pants by indigo to avoid insects and snakes.⇒ origin of the jeans!!!

Now, many people wear jeans. We should give thanks to Levi!!! Hah!! (・皿・)

Do you know James Dean???

James dean is the one of great actors in the 20th.

He is an American film actor. He was the first actor to receive a posthumous Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and remains the only person to have two such nominations posthumously. He died young, at 24 years old.

He was the famous among the young people, so the young were influenced by him. For example, →→Jeans!!

His famous movies are "East of Eden", "Rebel Without a Cause" and "Giants".

He is a handsome and cool man, isn't he? Please check these movies and watch James Dean!!

***Jeans' History***

This is my speech.→→

I'm going talk about jeans' history. Now, jeans are worn by many people,from the young to the old. Do you know where and when did jeans is made?
According to one view, the word "jeans" comes from "Genoese". Genoese were sailors in port town, Genoa in Italy in the 15th century. And they were wearing the pants, which are made from thick and strong cloth. And then, in the 18th century Levi Strauss, dry goods tradesman, brought denims which were made in Europe into America. He dyed the denims by indigo to avoid insects and rattle snakes. It is the origin of a blue jeans. In 1995, jeans came into fashion among young people all over the world because James Dean wore jeans in the movie "Revel Without a Cause". In these days jeans' image changed from "the labor cloth" to "the style of fashion". In Japan jeans became popular after the Second World War.
Through the centuries jeans, especially Levi's, has established the position as the young people's status symbol. And today, jeans are loved by many people.

HELLO!!!
This time, I show you my speech.

I will talk about "Today's ninja". Today, there are no ninja in Japan. But ninja is popular with a lot of people still now. In fact, some places hold ninja's festival. Iga, one of the ninja's birth places, has held "Ninja Festa". You can wear ninja's uniform and throw a Shuriken to a mark. Also ninja keeps their popularity, because of movies, comics and cartoon films.
Foreigners like ninja, too. Ninja's popularity is influenced by comics and cartoon films. Now, "NARUTO" is a very popular comic in a lot of the countries, especially U.S. One American company published a translated version in the America and "NARUTO" which became best-selling comic series. Also, Uzumaki Naruto, the main character, was elected by News Week Japan as "the world respects Japanese 100".


Today I did a presentation in the group and I thought it is difficult to tell my opinion and thinking to people!!!

Anyway, next week we have a presentation, so I have to remember my sentences and do good speech!!!

*Oxford Brookes University*

I’m going to talk about the location of this university.

●Campus
There are 4 campuses in this University and main campus is Headington Campus. It is located a mile from the city center. Most of the departments are here.

●About Oxford
Oxford is a beautiful and historic city.
Oxford has many students. One in five of the people are students.

So this city is always full of energy.
And there are a lot of people coming from all over the world.
So you can learn about many countries’ culture and language.

Also Oxford has the pretty good transport system so it is easy to visit a sightseeing spot, big cities and beautiful country side!!

study abroad ②

I had a Simon's class today, and I came to have to research foreign colleges.

Our group decided to research "Oxford Brookes University".

This university is in the U.K.

I looked over the location.

I thought that it is a nice place to study abroad.

Because Oxford is a beautiful, historic city

and famous for its writers and artists.

There are a lot of international people coming from all over the world.

So you can learn not only English but also a lot of countries culture and language.

Also, there are the excellent transport system so it is easy to visit major cities and beautiful country side. Of course you can enjoy sightseeing :)

I think Oxford Brookes University is a fantastic university!!!

Last Thursday, I had a Simon's class and I examined for studying abroad.

I think I want to study abroad in the English speaking world!!

But my English skill is not good now (;_;)

so I have to study more hard!!

I have been to New Zealand!!!

I think NZ is pretty good place because there are a lot of nature.

For example, beautiful ocean, big forest and pretty animals(←Of course, sheep and cows. Also many kinds of birds)

I saw Kiwi birds that are the NZ's national birds. They were cute.



I had a lot of fantastic experiences!!! I will never forget!!!

I came to like NZ but before I went to there I don't know about NZ at all.

I want to go NZ again but I want to go other countries, too!!

Talking to English speaker

Hello!! How are you?
Recently, it is a hot and humid weather so I am tired.
I don't like summer!!!

By the way, this week I tried to talk to English speaker.
I was nervous but it was interesting. :)
I could know about his country (the U.K.). He taught me that the price in London is too expensive. For example, it takes 1000yen to take subway in the two section!!! I thought if I come to want to visit London, I have to make a lot of money :*(

Hello!!
This week I watched the movie "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL".
It was good&nice movie. I came to like it.
There are a lot of music&dance (*O*).
I enjoyed seeing their really nice dance. It was very cool.

It is difficult for me to learn English.
But I like listening to music and watching movie&sports.
So, I am trying to listen English music and watch English movie now :)
I watched a movie last week. It was " Charlie and the chocolate factory".
Johnny Depp appears on this movie as a Willy Wonka. I like Johnny's acting!!
I learned a lot of vocabulary about confectionery from it. And it was very fun!!!
so if you have a chance to watch it, you should watch it!!!
